Central Maui
Kahului Airport
Main arrival point for Maui. Most visitors pick up rental cars here before heading to South Maui, West Maui, Upcountry, or the Road to Hāna.

Maui’s main retail and services hub, with grocery stores, big-box stores, rental car access, and practical trip supplies.
Wailuku
Historic county seat near ʻĪao Valley. Good base for exploring Central Maui and the West Maui Mountains.

Famous surf, windsurfing, and turtle-viewing beach. Best for watching conditions unless you are experienced.
Baldwin Beach Park
Long North Shore beach near Pāʻia. Good for walking, picnics, and beach time when conditions are calm.
Twin Falls
Popular early Road to Hāna stop with waterfall walks and tropical scenery.
Waiheʻe Ridge Trail
Scenic ridge hike with views over the West Maui Mountains and coastline. Expect mud, clouds, and changing weather.
East Maui / Hāna
Road to Hāna
Scenic all-day drive known for curves, one-lane bridges, waterfalls, viewpoints, and small communities. Start early and do not rush.
Garden of Eden Arboretum
Botanical garden and scenic stop along the Road to Hāna.
Waiʻānapanapa State Park
Black sand beach, sea caves, lava coastline, and coastal trails near Hāna. Advance reservations are usually required for visitors.
Hāna
Quiet East Maui town at the end of the Hāna Highway. Consider staying overnight if you want a slower Road to Hāna experience.
